Our next game

Hi. To anyone reading this , thank you for checking The Last Cosmonaut out! We're hard at work putting the finishing touches on our 2ND Game, which is a rage inducing platformer inspired by Jump king , Sexy Hiking, and QWOP, and will definitely be MUCH longer in terms of gameplay. (We're talking 8 plus hours maximum per level, of which there are 3 in total)

I've been working on this project on my own since my final year as a way to overcome my constant compulsion to draw (Don't worry, it's not OCD) , and found that the best way to overcome it would be to make a platformer that'll wear myself out. Fast forward to today: I met up with my friend, and after collaborating for "The last cosmonaut", my teammate wanted to take more time off to come up with the concept for his game ( cause it was his turn now), so I suggested that we dust off this project in the meantime and add some quality of life refinements. A Functional menu screen and save system d: , refined player animations, game soundtracks (another friend of mine has done 2/3 of those tracks, which i'm hyped to show you guys once we're done) and some cutscenes.

For the game itself. I had originally intended for it to not save your progress unless you complete all 3 keys in each level, so the idea of the game is to learn the intricacies of each section, as they'll take roughly 2-4 hours of trial and error, and eventually hone your platforming until one fine day when you feel you're ready to take on every section in one shot.

I know it sounds like we're getting WAYY ahead of ourselves, but we've got enough 3d art assets and gameplay ideas for the next 3-4 games, each with their own unique art styles. As an environment artist, I like to experiment a lot and look out for new forms of aesthetics that we can push further. We've been testing out 3d model asymmetry, crosshatching and experimenting with minimalism, primarily using flat surface shader gradient environments vs. using dithers alone for the shading.
